A SPRING CELEBRATION
MARCH 26
10AM TO 11:30AM
The Children's Services will present a special "Spring Celebration" for toddlers and children up to six years of age and their parents or caregivers.
The program will include activity centers crafts and storytelling. The activity centers will reflect early literacy standards.

A NEW READING RESOURCE
The library has added new reading kits to educational resources that promote beginning reading. The reading kits focus on two stages of early reading
The kits consist of two stories that focus on a particular word sound or word combination. There are two stories to a kit and there are two books for each story. Parent and child can read the stories together or two children can read the stories together.
There is a CD with the audio stories. Children can listen to the stories. Children can re-enforce their reading skills when they read along with the CD.
There is also an interactive CD ROM that allows children to discover things for themselves and encourage reading development.
The alphabet is the focus for all the kits.
Check out time for each kit is two weeks.
READ A TALE, WAG A TAIL WITH DIXON'S DOGS
We are starting Dixon's Dogs in February, Children can read aloud to a four-legged dog friend. Children are given a chance to sharpen their reading skills by reading to a certified therapy dog. These dogs love kids and love to read. The dogs are owned and trained by members of the Susquehanna Trail Dog Training Club. For more information call or stop at the library during our regular business hours.
