Searching the Internet for valid information can be a confusing process.
Below you will find a guide to direct you to the internet site that will best
suit your needs. Each section heading provides a brief description of what
is available on this page.

- POWER Library

Pennsylvania Libraries online guide to magazines & newspapers suitable
for use by all
ages. Databases included are BigChalk, Searchasaurus and
EBSCOhost. A current UCLS library card is needed to access the
POWER Library.
- Search Engines --
The most familiar type of Internet research. A high number of results can be
returned. Search Engines are good for current events and pop culture
searching. Some search engines will offer filtering capabilities
for family use.
- Subject Directories --
For academic
research, subject directories will provide students of all ages with valid
sites for in-depth research. Results retrieved from subject
directories have been screened by humans, usually librarians. Subject
directories are an excellent choice for school project research.
