Preparations are underway for The Public Library for Union County’s 23rd annual auction.

The fundraising event will be held on Sat., March 17, in the Terrace Room of Bucknell University’s Langone Center.

The annual auction is one of the primary fundraising events for The Public Library for Union County, which is the headquarters library for the three-member Union County Library System.

Financial support for the library comes from the county, from the state, and from local fundraising efforts.

Attending the event is a great way for people to meet area residents and business owners who support the library.

Donations of merchandise and services for the auction will be solicited in early 2012, but gift certificates for auction tickets, which may be redeemed beginning March 1, will be available in mid-October at the front desk for $50 each.

For more information, including details about how to volunteer to help before and during the auction, call 523-1172 or visit the library at 255 Reitz Boulevard in Lewisburg.
